How It Works

Welcome pilots!

Thank you for signing up to join one of the largest drone pilot networks in the country! 

We provide a convenient platform for individuals looking to earn money with their aerial drone skills. If you’re interested in aerial photography or aerial inspections for industries like real estate, construction, property management, solar, wind, telecommunications, and more then you’ve come to the right place!

We are a US-based company but also operate in Canada, Mexico, and Europe with a growing presence in South America, Asia, and Australia.

Below you’ll find a brief overview of what to expect after signing up and how things generally work here at Zeitview. Should you have further questions you can dive deeper into our pilot FAQ on individual topics you may be interested in.

INSTALLING THE APP

• • Immediately after installing the app, you will be prompted to enable notifications.
  • You MUST enable notifications! You can turn these off later.
  • If you decline you will never receive notifications or the opportunity to re-enable them.
  • To start over after the first time you declined, uninstall and reinstall the app.
  • The first time you open it you will receive an app popup and a native device/Apple popup to allow notifications from the Zeitview app.
  • Once you enable this you will receive notifications as expected.
  • Once notifications are enabled you should be able to open your mobile device's Notification Settings and see the app listed with the ability to toggle the setting on or off.
  • You should also see the Enable Push Notifications option within the app itself under the main menu after completing the account setup.

SIGNING UP

• • After creating a login you will be asked to enter all your personal information which will help us confirm your eligibility and find the most relevant jobs in your area.
  • Your profile is complete and approved once all fields are filled out.
    • • ***Disregard any graphic/message that might suggest your profile isn't complete***
      • ***As long as the required fields are filled in then no further action is needed***

    • Completed fields required include:
      1. 1. First and Last Name - This cannot be a business name.
         2. Email Address - This must be an inbox you check regularly.
         3. Phone Number - You may need to be reached by phone at times.
         4. Complete Address - This location will be used to notify you about available jobs in your area. It must be Google verified. You can use any nearby Google-verified address.
         5. Certifications - You must have a valid Part 107 or equivalent certification. You must upload a photo of your certification in the app under this section.
         6. Drone System - You must use a DJI drone for all flights but can still list non-DJI drones.
         7. Devices - You must have a mobile device with cellular data (iOS preferred, you can view the device list).
         8. Payment Info - You must set up a Stripe account to receive payments.
  • You will need to create a Stripe account through Zeitview to receive payments for flights you complete. Stripe is our payment processor for all US pilots. If you are located in another country you will need to create a Paypal account which you can also link to Zeitview.

NOTIFICATIONS

• • Once your profile and Stripe account are set up, make sure push notifications are turned on.
  • You should also make sure to update your mobile device and the Zeitview Pilot app regularly in order for the app to run smoothly.
  • You will be notified in the app and via email once a job becomes available near you.

ONBOARDING

• • All pilots are eligible for all jobs as long as you fulfill the minimum pilot requirements upon sign-up. Jobs will indicate if onboarding is needed but not all will require it.
  • Onboarding will be sent after you accept. You will have time to complete it before the flight date.
  • An email notification from Trakstar will be sent to the email on your profile.
    • Make sure it is not redirected to your Spam along with any other emails from Zeitview.

ACCEPTING A JOB

• • Available jobs will appear on your dashboard.
  • You will be able to view all the flight requirements, the schedule, location, and pay rate.
  • You must check the box that confirms "I have read this mission's ..." in each section of the invite and then click Accept on the final step in order to officially claim the job.
  • Once you’ve accepted, the flight will appear on your dashboard with access to upload.
  • You can always decline or ignore any invite.
  • A job will disappear if it is claimed by someone else sooner or is canceled.
    • You may also receive a message saying "This mission is no longer available".

CONFIRMING INSTRUCTIONS

• • You may receive a follow-up email to the address on your profile to further confirm all flight instructions.
  • Sometimes flight details may change so it is important that you use an email address that you check regularly.
  • Failure to acknowledge any direct correspondence from Zeitview will result in removal from the flight.
  • You may also be sent reminder email notifications that do not require a response. Unfortunately, you cannot turn these off at this time but they may serve as a good backup when your app notifications may not work for an unknown reason.

DAY OF FLIGHT

• • Follow all instructions as requested. You may need to reference your dashboard and any follow-up emails that were sent after you accepted.
  • Always double-check you have all appropriate equipment, all batteries are charged, and you've re-reviewed the entire flight scope. It is also wise to map the location in your GPS before heading out.
  • Make sure to arrive as scheduled and check in and out in the app.

UPLOAD

• • After flying, you will upload to the flight on your dashboard via a computer.
    • App uploads are not available at this time.
  • Log in to your Zeitview account on your browser. Your dashboard will appear similar to the app. Follow the prompts to upload all images and/or videos into the correct folders. Then hit Done to submit your work.

ASSET APPROVAL

• • Once your images and/or videos have passed QA and are approved you will be notified via email.
    • Sometimes you may need to reshoot, re-upload or provide more feedback before receiving asset approval and payment.

GET PAID

• • Make sure to create a Stripe account so you can receive payments for flights you complete. 
  • You can find the setup link in the Payment Information section of your profile.
  • Stripe is our payment processor for all US pilots. If you are located in another country you will need to create a Paypal account.
  • Make sure the information you enter is correct and accurate since this will be used to generate your tax documents later!
